Description
19" (48 cm.) Cloth-over-paper mache swivel head with one pate seam, pressed and painted facial features, rosy complexion, painted brown eyes, white eye dots, black and brown upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth, brunette human hair, stuffed cloth body with stitch-jointing at shoulders and disc-jointing at hips. Condition: generally excellent, legs slightly sagging. Marks: Kathe Kruse 42090 (and illegible marks on feet) Kathe Kruse (paper label). Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1945, Series VIII. Value Points: well-preserved doll is wearing her original costume and shoes, and is presented in her original box along with 1945 certificate indicating the doll was sold to a member of the United States Armed Forces and would be exported; the box also has hand lettered notation on base "Barbara Jean George from Daddy 1945".
