Description
5 1/2" (14 cm.) -6". dolls, 9" overall. Six dolls, each with flat-dimensional cloth head, except four with stitched-on nose, having hand-painted facial features and posable bodies, attached to original metal puppet rod with heavy weighted base, include bearded Burgermeister, his daughter, two Cavaliers, Nun, and Mother Superior nun. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Edith Bartel, pre-BAPS, circa 1935, the age distinguished by the heavy weighted bases which are notably larger than later puppet construction. Value Points: unusual characters with great detail of original costumes.
