Description
4" (10 cm.) -5" dolls, 8" overall. Four dolls, each with flat-dimensional cloth head having hand-painted facial features and posable bodies, attached to original metal puppet rod with heavy weighted base, include Little Red Riding Hood, Grandmother, Mother, Woodcutter, each with original costume designed to emphasize its role, along with brown yarn-wrapped Wolf. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Edith Bartel, pre-BAPS, circa 1935, the age distinguished by the heavy weighted bases which are notably larger than later models. Value Points: wonderful detail of layered costumes, and yarn-wrapped animal of the rare early set
