Description
5" (13 cm.) -6". dolls, 9" overall. Nine dolls, each with flat-dimensional cloth head, except four with stitched-on nose, having hand-painted facial features and posable bodies, attached to original metal puppet rod with heavy weighted base, include various warriors in different uniforms, Priest, and three unusual felt hooded characters. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Edith Bartel, pre-BAPS, circa 1935, the age distinguished by the heavy weighted bases which are notably larger than later puppet construction. Value Points: very rare group, of which no others are known to exist.
