Description
13" (33 cm.) x 12" box. 6" doll. Within a cardboard box labeled "Art Embroidery Outfit" with colorful image of child embroidering costumes for their dolls is a fitted arrangement of all-bisque doll surrounded by a number of stamped costumes, designed to be cut out, assembled and embroidered, along with embroidery threads. Condition: contents very good, costumes are uncut and near mint, box has wear. Marks: J. Pressman & Co New York. Comments: founded by Jack Pressman in the early post WWI days in New York, the company flourished during the 1920s with his indoor activity games, building sets and sewing kits. During the 1930s, the firm boomed with licensed toys including Little Orphan Annie and Dick Tracy. Value Points: rare to find American sewing ensemble set with eight original stamped costume designs.
