Four German Wooden Character Dolls in Chef Uniforms by Zwergtruhe

14" (36 cm.) Each is all-wooden doll with ball-shaped swivel head, ruddy complexion, and having cartoonish-style painted facial features, rounded nose, applied ears (one is missing one ear), swivel waist, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, over-sized feet with painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Zwergtruhe ein Qualitatsbegriff ges gesch (paper label on feet) Made in Germany (stamp on feet). Comments: Germany, circa 1940s/1950s. Value Points: the four amusing dolls with wonderful articulation are perfectly preserved, each wearing a different chef occupational costume.
