Description
11" (28 cm.) All cloth doll of cotton twill with head stitched tilted sideways, embroidered facial features, demurely closed downcast eyes with stitched lashes and dot brows, closed mouth, brunette mohair ringlet curls, stitch-jointed body posed with arms clasped holding bouquet of flowers, original costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: "Dolly National" designed and made by Jenn Comfort, circa 1940s; the doll was the early logo doll of UFDC until she was replaced by Miss Unity in 1955, and was recently featured on the Spring 2023 issue of Doll News. Value points: rarely found doll in perfectly preserved condition.
