Composition shoulderhead, blue metal sleep eyes with pronounced spiral threading, mohair lashes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, row of upper teeth, tongue, brunette human hair wig, cloth torso containing cylinder mechanism for playing recordings, composition limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Effanbee, Mae Starr phonograph doll, 1928, the phonograph operates from turn crank at side torso. Value Points: in factory-original well-preserved condition, the doll has lovely complexion, and is wearing her original factory costume; included are four original recordings, and the doll is preserved in original labeled box "Mae Starr, with real child voice".
