Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, small cobalt blue inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line between pale lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, shapely poupee body of kid stretched over wood, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, bisque arms to elbows and well-defined bisque hands and fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: German, circa 1875. Attributed to Simon and Halbig. Value Points: exceptional beauty achieved by most delicate bisque, original wig, body, perfect bisque hands, and very fine antique costume.
