30" (76 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with oval shaped face and elongated throat, black sculpted hair in elaborate coiffure featuring large rolled curls at sides of face and crown which are accented by shaded detail around the edge of face, painted blue eyes with shaded coloring, white eye dots, black feathered brows, closed mouth, modeled ears, muslin lady body with stitch-jointing, wooden lower arms, antique white gown and undergarments. Condition: good, crazing on shoulderplate, touch-up on hair, light rubs to facial paint. Comments: Germany, early 1800s, the doll is wearing chemise on which is pencil written "Elizabeth Tredway No 6 - Jane St. Cottage- 1833". Value Points: grand size and rare exuberant coiffure.
