17" (43 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead with rounded facial modeling, painted blue eyes with black upper eyeliner, feathered brows, all-around delicately painted lashes, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, dark blonde mohair wig over cork pate, gutta-percha body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, kid collarette. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Brevet d'Inv. SGDG Maison Huret Boulevard Montmartre 22 Paris (stamp on kid collarette) Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1857. Value Points: the rare early period poupee by the illustrious dollmaker has fine gleaming porcelain complexion, exquisite painting, original deposed body, and is wearing antique dress of the era, undergarments, leather ankle boots, woven bonnet, and carrying leather necessaire. The doll has been preserved in its original green carton box with original Huret label.
