Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead depicting an adult lady with oval full face and elongated throat, cobalt blue glass eyes, black encircling eyeliner, incised eyeliner, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blushed cheeks, fully-sculpted pierced ears, muslin stitch-jointed body with leather arms, sewn-on striped stockings and blue leather shoes, wearing fine antique velvet jacket and patterned silk skirt, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Alt, Beck & Gottschalk, circa 1875. Value Points: rarity factors include glass eyes, sculpted fichu at her bodice with scalloped edging, brown sculpted hair with a loosely woven braid at the crown and smoothly rolled hair at the back held by a black barrette, and two original holes at the crown designed insertion of jeweled tiara.
