Description
20" (51 cm.) Solid domed bisque head, blue glass inset eyes with darker blue iris rims, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, accented lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, blonde caracul wig, carton torso containing clockwork mechanism which when wound causes the bebe to wave arms and legs in baby-like fashion, turn head from side to side and cry "mama", composition arms and lower legs, rose silk costume. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: Bebe Gigoteur by Jules Steiner, circa 1880. Value Points: well-preserved bebe has original paper label from the prestige Paris doll boutique of Aux Enfants Sage.
