12" (30 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head with brown sculpted hair loosely waved around her face and formed into ringlet curls onto her shoulders, with drawn-up large loop of hair at back of head and with sculpted gilt diadem with pearl accents, generously-modeled bosom, enamel eyes, closed mouth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, expressive fingers, bare feet with wrapped sandals, wearing early silk low-bodice gown. Excellent condition, finish worn on legs, one finger tip chipped. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, rarity factors on the beautiful lady include sculpted diadem and bosom.
