Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes with darker blue outer rims, arched feathered brows, painted lashes, closed mouth with smiling expression, slightly upturned lip corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden poupee body with swivel waist, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 0 (or C). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872 when the facial model was deposed; his wooden body had been deposed earlier in 1867. Value Points: beautiful face enhanced by lovely bisque and painting, wooden articulated body.
