A delicate gouache of a brunette-haired woman in profile, with heart-shaped face, decorative roses in hair, lovely painted features, low-sloping shoulders, beautifully detailed gown with blue ribbons and lace, in oval frame that is enclosed within a larger bone frame. Excellent condition. Mid-19th century. The image is a portrait of the beloved "Swedish Nightingale" Jenny Lind.
