19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, ash-blonde mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1 SFBJ 301 Paris 5. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1915, possibly from the series of dolls costumed by the Parisian boutique of Margaine-Lacroix and presented as companion background dolls in the premiere showing of the Albert Marque doll; this series is found wearing historic fashion gowns such as this example. Value Points: very fine silk costume with lace trim, unusual original never-removed elbow-length kidskin gloves, feathered bonnet.
