20" (51 cm.) x 14". The wooden trunk with domed lid is covered with canvas, black wooden slats, and brass studding, and opens to fitted interior with lift-out tray which contains a bounty of costume elements including hoops, lingerie, dresses, stays, embroidered shawl and much more. The trunk has original label "Cardinet Embellage Articles de Voyage Paris". Excellent condition. French, circa 1870.
