16" (41 cm.) Wax-over-paper mache shoulderhead with oval slender face and elongated throat, large blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, inserted blonde mohair wig in very elaborate upswept coiffure, muslin stitch-jointed slender lady body, wax lower arms. Condition: very good, some possible retouch to lashes and nose tip. Comments: Germany, the fashion model lady known as "staatdamen", circa 1875. Value Points: fine original costume of unusually-patterned velvet with silk and embroidered trim.
