Description
32" (81 cm.) Bisque socket head with original rosy complexion, blue glass eyes with dark eyeliner, real lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded lips, long brunette hand-tied human hair wig. Condition: generally excellent, body repainted, 2 1/2" original firing line on right side of forehead. Marks: Unis France 71 149 306 Jumeau 1938 Paris (head) Jumeau Paris Princess (impressed mark on body). Comments: SFBJ, 1938, custom dolls representing the two young princesses, Elizabeth and Margaret were created by SFBJ in 1938 to commemorate their royal visit to France. Smaller sizes of the dolls were offered to the public, but this larger size of the dolls was Exhibition models only. Value Points: very rare doll is wearing her original organdy dress with embroidered flowers, and having coronet of flowers in her hair. The doll originally belonged to the child film star, Margaret O'Brien. Ex-collection Billie Nelson Tyrell.
