Description
18" (46 cm.) x 12" 5"h. chocolate pot. A light wooden box with decorative paper covers has original paper label on the lid, "Porcelaine Service"; the box hinges open to beautifully-fitted interior featuring superb white porcelain dishes with rich cobalt blue decorations for which the Sevres porcelain works were known. The porcelain pieces are richly shaped and the cobalt blue decorations are further enhanced with gold trim. The service includes lidded chocolate or coffee pot, lidded sugar, creamer, two sauce dishes, fruit bowl, small bowl, four cups and saucers, six plates, six spoons, and serving fork and knife, that are neatly arranged on the shelved base and interior lid. Excellent condition. French, circa 1890, a luxury and well-preserved service.
