14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with very delicate complexion, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, very delicate lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body with straight wrists, wearing purple silk dress, undergarments, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (illegible size incised low on neck) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, earliest period bebe. Value Points: the delicate complexion enhances the gentle expression of the rare early bebe, with original body and body finish.
