Description

24" (61 cm.) A bisque baby with brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, two porcelain teeth, shaded lips, brunette wig, and composition baby body is resting in a wicker baby basket whose lavish blankets disguise a mechanical device that is attached under the doll. When activated, the doll turns its head from side to side and wave its arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Q made in Germany 20 Germany JDK 1914./ c. Hilda Ges Gesch N 1070 Comments: Kestner, circa 1920, the life-size rare baby was incorporated into a store display, likely in a luxury baby boutique considering the deluxe nature of the doll model and the lavish antique costume being worn. Value Points: very rare mechanical presentation of the beloved model, likely one of a kind.
