13" (33 cm.) Carved wooden doll with painted hair with shaded detail, tiny painted facial features, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal, late 1800s. Value Points: wearing antique peddler costume and cape, the doll is carrying woven basket which contains an assortment of wares including sewing novelties, trinkets, and miniature peg-wooden dolls, preserved on ebony base under glass dome.
