11" (28 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with sculpted brown side-parted hair in boyish fashion, blue glass inset eyes, painted upper lashes and brows, closed mouth, sculpted curly moustache, firmly stuffed muslin body with paper mache lower arms and legs, painted coral heeled boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Unzerbrechlich & Waschbar (red lettering on front shoulderplate, indicating unbreakable and washable). Comments: Germany, circa 1880. Value Points: rare glass eyes and sculpted moustache, original finish and wearing original mariner costume, carrying wooden articulated doll with painted sailor costume.
