All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features to depict President George Washington, having blue painted eyes with heavy eyelids, single-stroke brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth with strong lips and jaw, impasto thickly-painted white hair that forms into a pony tail at the nape, cotton sateen body cover, stitch-jointed arms and legs, oil-painted hands and feet with defined fingers and toes, wearing a blue and ivory suit with lace jabot and cuffs, black stockings and shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Martha Chase, late 19th century. Value Points: very rare doll in perfectly preserved original condition with most artistic painting, the facial model unique for this doll.
