Description
24" (61 cm.) w. x 12"h. x 11"d. An open-front wooden store with swinging display doors on each side has ebony black finish with gilt stenciled accents. The back wall has built-in cupboards with a centering mirrored door flanked by two glass windowed cabinets with interior shelving. The swing-around front windows have built-in interior shelving, and there is a matching free-standing counter. The shop has original paper cover on the walls and floor, and the shop is liberally furnished with millinery accoutrements including twenty-two labeled boxes with various fabrics, trims and couturier accessories, standing mirror, yardstick, and various accoutrements. Nine hats on wooden hat stands are arranged across the top shelf. The Christian Hacker signature is on the base. Christian Hacker, circa 1880, the swing-around shop windows, designed to allow the child access to the store interior, were characteristic features of the firm's miniature shops.
