Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully-shaded and outlined lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, antique brown velvet boy's suit, stockings, shoes. Condition: bisque excellent, body is original albeit repainted. Marks: 15. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884, the bebe known as "triste" in reference to its sad expression. Value Points: very fine bebe, the iconic model with solemn expression is enhanced by very choice bisque and splendid eyes, antique costume.
