Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks and chin, very large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, rose blushed eye shadow, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, dimpled chin and philtrum, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, nicely costumed, signed Jumeau shoes. Condition: generally excellent, body may not be original but is appropriate to the era and appropriately sized. Marks: Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: French, circa 1888, maker is uncertain, possibly Daniel & Cie. Value Points: most unusual expression with dramatic eyes and cheeks, fine luminous bisque.
