13.5" (34 cm.) Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, articulation allowing the head to tilt side to side and nod forward, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, ears pierced into head, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, silk gown included. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1. Comments: French, circa 1866, the neck articulation system was deposed by Auguste Dehors in 1866. Value Points: unusual petite size for this rare articulation system, with charming piquant expression, very sturdy original body.
