Description
4.5" (11 cm.) One-piece bisque figure of standing Kewpie, posed on self base along with a bisque candy sack against which Kewpie is leaning as though about to tie the pink pull-strings, Kewpie has classic features including topknot, forelock, side-glancing eyes and blue wings which match the candy sack color, and there is a brass plaque "Let Us Be Happy". Stamped c. in circle on underside. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1912, designed by Rose O'Neill.
