Description
5" (13 cm.) All-bisque one-piece standing Kewpie has sculpted and painted black military flat-topped helmet with red crown and white medallion, blue wings, side-glancing eyes, his right hand held forward in semi-closed fist (designed to hold a flag), and with black belt, modeled sabre, and with very rare sculpted brown saddlebag resting by his feet. Marked O'Neill on feet. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1915, very rare model known as Saddlebag Kewpie with fine painting and details, with variation of helmet from following lot #45.
