Description
4" (10 cm.) One-piece all-bisque seated Kewpie with head inclined forward, chin tucked into chest, with left toe slightly lifted and arms outstretched as though about to attempt to capture the fly which is resting on the toes of the left foot; Kewpie has especially nice modeling of curled topknot and forelock curl, blue wings, and side-glancing eyes. Fine professional retouch to paint at back torso, left baby finger chipped. Germany, c. 1915, designed by Rose O'Neill.
