Description
4" (10 cm.) One-piece all-bisque Doodle Dog is his classic pose, seated on back haunches, his head turned to the side and gazing downward, with shaded brown spots on white coat, side-glancing large round eyes, droopy ears, painted whiskers, blue wings, curly tail. Incised Rose O'Neill on base, and marked c. in circle. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1913 from original O'Neill design, this rare example is notable for larger size, and details of decoration including glazed highlights of brown spots, and blushing of paws.
