All-bisque Kewpie in classic standing pose, one-piece bisque head, torso and legs, loop-jointed arms, modeled forelock, topknot, and blue wings, and with side-glancing painted eyes, and painted black Mary Jane shoes and white socks. Kewpie is wearing factory or store original Uncle Sam costume comprising red and white striped trousers, star patterned vest, blue flannel jacket, bow tie, and tall paper mache hat with red and white stripes and blue banding. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1915, rare to find in original cloth costume, the patriotic figure is especially rare.
