Description
3.7" (9 cm.) One-piece all-bisque standing Kewpie with topknot, forelock, side-glancing eyes and blue wings is strumming the guitar he holds, while leaning against a white egg-shaped jar with open top, designed for use as candy container. Marks: 4894. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1915, designed by Rose O'Neill, from a series of Kewpies adorning functional objects.
