Description
2" (5 cm.) One-piece all-bisque seated Kewpie with right arm outstretched, book held open on lap, and two upright books at his back. With modeled topknot, forelock, blue wings and side-glancing eyes. There is a slit between the upright books designed for use of this Kewpie as a name place holder at dinner party. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1915, designed by Rose O'Neill.
