Description
3.5" (9 cm.) h. 3.5"w. One-piece all-bisque figure of Kewpie posed kneeling, head tilted slightly forward and arms extended to grasp the ropes of swing which are actually drawn through the openings in his folded fists, with modeled forelock, topknot, blue wings, and painted side-glancing eyes. Kewpie is attached to bisque swing seat with detail painted wood graining, and is designed for display as a "swinging" object. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1915, the popular swinging series included a standard seated Kewpie, and this, much rarer, kneeling Kewpie.
