Description
2" (5 cm.) All-bisque one-piece Kewpie is posed as though tumbling with arms outstretched and legs in air, his bottom resting upon a brown painted bisque sled, with topknot, forelock, blue wings, and side-glancing eyes. Excellent condition. Marked c. in circle and with original Kewpie red paper label. Germany, c. 1915, the tumbling Kewpie appeared in a number of variations focused on the acrobatic pose.
