Description
4" (10 cm.) All-bisque seated tiny Kewpie holding a mandolin and all-bisque Doodle Dog, each with sculpted blue wings, are seated atop an attached bisque "wicker" laundry hamper with removable lid allowing its function as a dresser jar. Kewpie and Doodle Dog are artfully arranged as though gazing lovingly at each other. Marked 6410 (incised) and red stamped C. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1914, a most charming and very rare piece.
