Description
6" (15 cm.) All-bisque Kewpie with rich black complexion has one-piece head, torso and legs, loop-jointed arms, with black painted forelock and topknot enhanced by decorative glaze, blue wings, side-glancing eyes, coral-painted full lips. Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1915, designed by Rose O'Neill, the model has variation of lip painting from classic Kewpie, and this example especially fine flawless painting of complexion.
