Description
5.5" (14 cm.) One-piece all-bisque Kewpie is posed seated sideways on upholstered green chair appearing to reach for a striped red and green ball lying alongside, side-glancing eyes, modeled forelock, topknot and blue wings. Excellent condition. Marked c. in circle. Germany, c. 1915, designed by Rose O'Neill, from a series of seated Kewpies in chair with various objects; the modeled is especially animated with curled up toes, reaching fingers and realistic tilt of head.
