Description
6.5" (17 cm.) One-piece all-bisque Kewpie and surroundings depicts Kewpie standing on oval bisque base alongside a tall tree-shaped vase with Art Nouveau style decorations, Kewpie with sculpted red Civil War soldier cap with black brim, black belt with holster for silver-handled sabre and holding a rifle in his right hand, blue wings, side-glancing eyes, one arm posed behind back. Excellent condition. Marked c. in circle. Germany, c. 1915, the model was made with several variations of Kewpie including this soldier and Farmer (see #207).
