Description
5.5" (14 cm.) One-piece all-bisque Kewpie is posed seated on upholstered green chair, an open book spread across legs and held in place by the toes of left foot, and outstretched left hand, with downcast head, side-glancing eyes, and right arm extended as though about to turn the page, modeled forelock, topknot and blue wings. Excellent condition. Marked c. in circle. Germany, c. 1915, designed by Rose O'Neill, from a series of seated Kewpies in chair with various objects.
