Description
5.5" (14 cm.) All-bisque with one-piece head, torso and legs, posed with tucked head, sturdily posed legs, loop-jointed bisque arms with spread fingers, blonde sculpted hair, forelock curls, blue side-glancing eyes, brown upper lashes, button nose, closed mouth with impish smile, dimpled cheeks, knees and elbows. Marks: Rose O'Neill c. Scootles (feet). Excellent condition. Germany, c. 1915, designed by Rose O'Neill, the rare early German model of Scootles was likely produced in very limited amounts as few are found today, and is notable for exceptional painting and modeling.
