Description
7" (18 cm.) One-piece bisque head, torso and legs, loop-jointed arms, sculpted curly blonde hair with very curly tousles at forehead, painted bright blue side-glancing eyes, wearing amusing silk pleated hula skirt and rosebuds halter. Marked Rose O'Neill Scootles (incised on feet) Japan (red stamp on torso). Excellent condition. Japan, c. 1925, the model was licensed by Rose O'Neill, and varies from German Scootles in rough texture of bisque, but has especially fine detail of modeled chubby rolls and dimples.
