Description
4.5" (11 cm.) All-bisque one-piece Kewpie in standing pose, with right arm stretched out with semi-closed fist for holding object, and left hand held at his back, side-glancing eyes, blue wings, sculpted black Prussian helmet with gold eagle and unusual red and black flat-topped finial with center medallion, with black painted belt and silver-tipped sword at side. Excellent condition. Marked c. in circle. Germany, c. 1915, from Rose O'Neill designs, a rare variation of helmet, Kewpie is carrying vintage tri-color Czech flag.
