All composition with one-piece head and torso, the head modeled impishly tucked forward, jointed arms, outstretched hands, painted brown hair with modeled topknot, painted features, blue side-glancing eyes, smiling closed mouth. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Maiden America, The National Doll, Reg. U.S., Pat. Off (paper label on chest) Des. Pat. 8-24-15 1915 Kate Silverman (paper label on feet). Comments: c. 1915, the doll was presented as support for American soldiers during WWI. Value Points: perfectly preserved novelty doll with original wrapped sash and two original labels.
