Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips and defined space between the lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid bebe body with slender shape, gusset-jointing at hips and knees, scalloped-edge kid collarette, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 0 (head) No 0 Bru Jne (shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the premiere version of the classic Bru Jne model, circa 1882. Value Points: pristine state of preservation of the rare size 0 bebe, with loveliest modeling, bisque and painting, perfect bisque hands, sturdy early body, and with original bonnet, socks and leather shoes signed Bru Jne Paris 0. The doll is shown in the book, The Rose Unfolds, by Rosalie Whyel and Susan Hedrick.
