Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head portraying a very solemn-faced child, deeply-set intaglio blue downcast eyes, white eye dots, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with primly-set accented lips, well-defined chin, brunette mohair wig with braided bun, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.P. 8 (incised) S&Co. Germany (stamp). Comments: Swaine, circa 1910. Value Points: rarely-found model with most expressive and deeply-modeled features, choice bisque, wearing original traditional folklore costume and cap of Czechoslovakia.
